Whatever you think about AI use in schools, the second point is so important - these students didn’t effectively proofread their answers on a MIDTERM?! In the corporate world people are using AI daily - but the point is to use it as a first draft and modify from there.
Love this for him and sure he’ll do great but respectfully why is a wasian playing the full Asian character when the wasian actor (sky yang, also happy for him and sure he’ll do great) playing the actually wasian character looks more Asian than him
Sean Kaufman joins Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sky Yang in the film adaptation of ‘TOMORROW, AND TOMORROW, AND TOMORROW.’
He will star as Marx Watanabe, Sam’s (Yang) roommate and friend.
@KatieMiller “1/3 of people on one side of this issue believe XYZ about the other side, therefore it must not only be true but be the root of the problem” is a pretty ridiculous assertion to make. There is a therapist Whitney Goodman who does research on both side’s perspectives.
She was such a minor role, it’s hard to really compare the two. She had one line read in the back half that was the worst line read of the film. I think Holland had many, many mid-to-bad minutes/lines in the first 30 min of the film. Harder to ignore but he redeemed it in the end
@its_Sophia_24 Men actually donate more organs in death (aka the “organ donor” status people are discussing) (~60%) because they have more strokes/OD/dangerous activities. Women donate more organs in life (60%) - so the solution here is just not donating a kidney/liver if a man asks.
@opendoorforever@cybelethebest@ouranometrian2 History vs prehistory is extremely different. By definition. You are imposing your modern opinions and perceptions onto the distant past. If you’re interested you should read a book called “the invention of prehistory” - it covers how our opinions reflect our ideas, not reality
@opendoorforever@cybelethebest@ouranometrian2 Genuinely how would a claim like this possibly be proven. Not to mention it goes completely against logic - hunter gatherers were constantly searching for sustenance and using high amounts of energy hunting and gathering. Shared nursing couldn’t possibly mitigate that entirely.
@Rothmus Love that your read of this is based on a complete misreading of the chart. AOC/Sanders/Warren are still on the far left of the faculty scale, not anywhere near the center.
@MomKrill@kol5hara To make it a fair comparison given the discussion: I would probably buy the same gift for a friend with a career who is 40+ as I would for a friend who is 23 and careerless. Most people just don’t think about this stuff that hard and don’t worry about others’ choices this much.
@MomKrill@kol5hara You chose an obvious outlier example (someone’s husband dying while she’s pregnant) to compare to a pretty average example (a woman having a career and then getting pregnant). Like obviously you would want to take care of your cousin in that scenario - any reasonable person would
@kkrespawned Exactly this. Also, if no-one buys an item off the registry, usually the registry site gives the couple 10-20% off the item if they buy it themselves. So some people “pad” the registry with things they know won’t get bought so they can buy them later at a discount.
@SeverusChud Their religion is literally called Zensunni. What book were you reading?
The way I see it, books in the 60s by white Americans were gonna be full of white people. That’s fine. Nothing crazy about it. Movies in the 2020s can be updated. That’s fine. Nothing crazy about it.
