Just received multiple spam calls today. Though these were not fraud call rather someone acquiring mobile number data from shady places.
Is this kind of selling and purchasing legal in India?
Or even are these kinds of call legal?

They trying to recommend something. Nowadays there are so many place (petrol pumps, restaurants/cafes - eating in, bus ticket agents, even general physicians etc...) who ask for your mobile number and they say sir its mandatory. Why? They won't tell you but you know it.
