No fewer than two dozen major wars were fought among the Rajputs with zero Muslim involvement. Not a single episode involved self-immolation of any kind. Not one. Neither Indian, nor foreign accounts record a single instance. Now see this:
- 712-712, Dahir of Sind vs. Muhammad bin Qasim: Jauhar committed.
1232-1232, Gwalior (Rajputs) vs. Iltutmish: Jauhar committed
- 1301-1301, Ranthambore vs. Alauddin Khalji: Jauhar committed
- 1299-1299, Jaisalmer vs. Alauddin Khalji: Jauhar committed
- 1303-1303, Chittor vs. Alauddin Khalji: 1st jauhar of Chittor
- 1327-1327, Kampili vs. Muhammad bin Tughluq: Jauhar committed
- 1326-1326, Jaisalmer vs. Ghiyath al-Din Tughluq: Jauhar committed
- 1486-1486, Kuva (Kankavati) vs. Mahmud Begada: Jauhar committed
- 1528-1528, Chanderi vs. Babur: Jauhar committed.
- 1535-1535, Chittor vs. Bahadur Shah: 2nd jauhar of Chittor
- 1543-1543, Raisen vs. Humayun: 3 jauhars committed
- 1568-1568, Chittor vs. Akbar: 3rd jauhar of Chittor
- 1634-1634, Bundelkhand vs. Aurangzeb: Jauhar committed
- 1710-1710, Daddanala vs. Mir Fazlullah: Jauhar committed
Similarly, when the British came, we had a series of gruesome engagements starting with Plassey and Buxar, then going on to the Carnatic Wars, the Anglo-Mysore Wars, the Anglo-Maratha Wars, the Anglo-Gurkha War, the Anglo-Sikh Wars, the Anglo-Burmese Wars, the Anglo-Afghan Wars, and many, many more.
No jauhar.
Now, when someone like that book reviewer condemns “Hindutva” for “glorifying jauhar,” I am fully on their side. I agree it was a morbid ritual that does not belong in a civilized society, thank goodness we no longer do that. But do you see a pattern in the above lists?
Why do you think this macabre ritual was practiced EXCLUSIVELY in conflicts involving Muslim forces?
Why didn’t women feel the need to self-immolate when their kingdoms fell to any other adversary?
You can’t be dumb enough to not draw the only possible conclusion here.
Nobody glorifies jauhar, it was not picnic.
We “honor” it. No, not the immolation itself but the debilitating sentiment behind it. With the honor we keep our alive in our collective memory. Know why?
Because the demons that drove our ancestors to such extremities still live and breathe amongst us to this day.
And they haven’t changed one bit.
When someone prefers death to your touch, what even are you?
I’m the son of bravehearts; the Jauhars of my mothers in this world are without compare.
Ask the sons of Akbar — do they remember Meena Bazaar?
Do they remember the fierce fire that burned in the fort of Chittor?
When, alas, countless mothers burned themselves to bits and became immortal.
That is not a fire that can be extinguished; I carry it in my every vein.
If someday itsuddenly bursts forth into a rebellion — what wonder would that be?
Hindu body and mind, Hindu life — Hindu in every vein is my description.

Judging Jauhar through a cushioned, 21st-century ideological lens is historical illiteracy wrapped in cheap academic posturing.
If Jauhar were just an invention of Hindu patriarchy or misogyny, where was it during the centuries of internal battles between Hindu kings? It didn't exist, because they fought with a certain honor that included not targeting non-combatants, including women, in any way. Jauhar emerged exclusively as a response to medieval Islamic invasions, where war wasn't just about territory, but systemic mass rape, forced conversion, and selling women off like livestock in foreign slave markets.
Feminists like Swara Bhasker preach about autonomy and choice, completely ignoring the reality of the situation. When foreign armies breached the fort, women didn't have a choice between death and living. Their only two options were a quick, self-inflicted death, or death after years of violent sexual abuse, physical torture, and horrific enslavement until their bodies gave out.
Condemning those women for burning themselves while ignoring the barbarians who drove them into the fire is pathetic victim-blaming. Jauhar was a tragedy, but the absolute onus belongs entirely on the invaders who forced that reality upon them.
Never forget how this medical scandal began.
Back in the 1980s, a small group of trans activists hatched a plot: to take an absurd, illogical overvalued belief—that being transgender is innate, natural, healthy—and force all of society to live in a fictional world built on it.
Given the sheer audacity of that plot, there must have been people who said it couldn’t be done. But if such voices existed, they were ignored. And the activists pressed on until they succeeded in nothing less than reshaping reality itself.
And they didn’t just persuade people to politely look the other way.
They rallied good, decent people to march in the streets demanding that teenagers sacrifice their health, their fertility, and their sexual function in the name of this belief.
They convinced governments to write laws based on a non-existent, fictional concept.
They enlisted well-meaning teachers to poison the minds of a generation with absurd lies.
And they drove doctors to amputate healthy organs and call it medicine.
If they could succeed in creating that false reality, then surely we can succeed in restoring truth.
Because our cause is not built on lies but on logic and reason. Not on ideology but on sound ethical principles. Not on harm but on healing.
My talk at @genspect’s conference in Albuquerque calls for the complete rejection of this dangerous belief.
Only by restoring truth and reality can we actually protect vulnerable people from this medical crime.

A Dalit brother is also pointing out how the Constitution is discriminating against people from Savarna (general) castes. And I agree with him. My grandfather was a village headman (mukhiya). Then the government imposed a ban that general category people cannot contest elections, so even today we have not been able to contest elections. Equality 🥀

Something very strange is emerging from the coverage of recent Nepal floods.
One symbol keeps appearing again and again
Missing people. Victims. Headlines. Even a birthday.
Coincidence? Maybe.
But the deeper you look, the stranger it gets. 🧵

Three of the four previous NSAs were diplomats and not intelligence officers. Even M.K. Narayanan was an intelligence administrator (also headed IB). What makes Doval different beyond the BJP's obvious narrative building around him is that he actually did long undercover work risking his life. That kind of skin in the game helps in deploying Indian spies across the world in a way it's never been done before. Whenever I ask nat sec folks about the 'unknown gunmen,' they always say it is a baseless allegation. But we all know what Israel began with targeted assassinations...India is perfecting it against its enemies. In this clip, investigative journalist @AnirudhyaMitra3 describes the Dovalian approach to national security.

The BJP leader Shailendra Tripathi said, Sushant was torturéd for 4-5 hours before he was kílled.
Torturing someone for five hours indicates the killérs were in a secure, private location where they felt completely safe from interruption or discovery.
Where was Sushant immobilized with a stun gun and torturéd for hrs, was it Mt Blanc, Bandra police station or was he taken to Karjat just like Disha? Which is the actual crime scene? Shame on you @CBIHeadquarters for covering up such a heníous crime.
