I've recently taken a political stance of unification rather than division. I now avoid political arguments not because I think they are unnecessary but because I want to move people together rather than apart.
@observer2952 well, additionally, there is social status to drinking certain wines in the same way there is to owning a certain automobile or living in a certain neighborhood, but i find myself being willing to pay a higher price for a wine that has a certain potential. Other do this as well.
Arguement against taste being subjective: people pay astronomical amounts of money for the most famous wines of the world. The market determines the price. If people weren't tasting something simliar they wouldn't gravitate towards these wines.
