Looks like Tofu Chris is taking a break from Twitter. It's very sad to see how this community can act and how people can so easily blame developers like this without a care in the world. This is truly disappointing and should NEVER have to happen. Do better.
chris getting harassed over the peanut thing when he has NOTHING to do with it just proves yet again how immature this platform is lol
makes it worse that he always been nice to people and took a lot from his FREE TIME to interact with these same people that are harassing him 🥀
Looks like this was intentional. Epic doubled down in their news feed 🤦♂️
I would like a refund for EVERY single FNCS outfit I bought (That WERE deemed exclusive). Y'all lied and said it was limited time, so I am owed something. Same applies to level up packs @FortniteStatus 👍
HOT TAKE: Releasing Exclusive Outfits IS FINE IF OG owners are compensated styles.
Epic-Games promised exclusivity, players ARE entitled to it because of the FOMO that Fortnite has put out there.
Using FOMO and exclusivity to gain a quick buck and LYING on top of that isn't correct, I think everyone can agree. Using these sales tactics without an alterative solution is promoting scammy and malicious behavior
Please do not blame the players requesting compensation!
I’m ngl asking for OG animations to return genuinely feels like a dead end it also gets you a lot of hate lmao. It’s been like 3 years soooo I think this might be a better solution…👀🤞😭
If it makes sense. I think a faithful remake of og animations is a easier path going forward than asking for the straight up original animations back.
I’m not an expert when it comes to locomotion or animation systems, but recreating the OG feel with modern animation tech/motion matching seems way more doable than fully bringing back the old movement system exactly as it was.
honestly, I wouldn’t mind this idea as long as it’s faithful to the original feel including pickaxe pullout, all those little details are what people actually miss.
Obviously not EVERYONE would be happy with it, because a lot of people only want the exact original anims back, but if fully reverting it is too difficult, I genuinely think a faithful remake could still work really well and make a lot of people happy. Especially if they actually focus on recreating the OG feel, that the current anims do not have.
I know there’s a big part of the community that would love for OG animations to return but we gotta be realistic. What we think?
Did I cook..😭✌️⁉️
@EpicTofuChris
This is a pretty solid middle ground and feels like something epic could do imo 🤷♂️
This is just a follow up post on the og animation remake idea in case anyone was confused or wanted more info on it, because I genuinely think this has a better chance of happening than a straight up full revert.
When I say “faithful remake/remaster” I mean taking OG animations and rebuilding them in a modern way using current animation tech, like making a new animation but make it 1:1 with OG animations
In my head, IF Epic were to ever do something like this, I’d imagine OG Fortnite movement/animations and the “remastered” version would look VERY similar side by side overall (or at least I’d hope so 😭)
The goal wouldn’t be to completely redesign OG movement to where it’s unrecognizable, but to faithfully recreate that original style and feel using modern animation methods/tech that Epic uses today.
The main idea is to keep the personality that OG animations had, while still working within Fortnite’s newer locomotion and motion matching systems.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up looking slightly smoother/more fluid overall just because of how newer animations feel, even if the intention is still to stay faithful to the OG feel.
Even then, it should still be instantly recognizable as being inspired by classic OG Fortnite animations.
Things like the classic pickaxe pullout, movement flow, responsiveness, and overall animation should still feel faithful to OG Fortnite movement.
I genuinely think this is how the updated 2023 animation direction (Chapter 5) should’ve been approached in the first place. What we got felt very random, overly basic, and honestly didn’t really look or feel like Fortnite to me and many of you. It also didn’t match Fortnite’s aesthetic/style very well, which I think is a huge reason why the animations got so much backlash from the community.
Again, I’m NOT an expert in locomotion/animation systems, I’m just giving my perspective as a player. But if something like this were to ever happen, I personally don’t think it should be a toggle/setting. I think it should just replace the current animations entirely as Fortnite’s new default animation set moving forward.
Again, just from a player’s POV, this seems like a much more realistic/reasonable way of getting somewhat of that OG animation back without completely throwing away everything Epic has already built instead of forcing a full revert back to the original system. Because realistically, if it was THAT easy to bring back OG animations exactly how it was, I feel like we would’ve had them right now.
What y’all think? 🤷♂️
