Today at the library, I overheard the librarian telling a colleague that @JDVance is traveling to Pakistan for peace talks. They turned to me and asked, “Ms. Haider, do you think it will work?”

I said, let’s pray. My country, despite limited resources and serious internal and external security challenges, is taking the initiative to facilitate these talks. I sincerely hope it succeeds because if it fails, the consequences for the entire region could be disastrous. The other colleague responded, “We hope so too, but it’s commendable that Pakistan is stepping forward.”

So if anyone thinks people aren’t aware of these peace efforts, they’re either uninformed or choosing to ignore reality.

I’m proud that Pakistan has taken this step. Staying relevant on social media should never come at the cost of supporting conflict or prolonging war.
And honestly, I’m not concerned about being “cancelled” for saying that.
