It was a pleasure hosting 19 enthusiastic graduate and undergraduate Honors students from across the U.S. at our #AgriFlux site in College Station, TX, on June 1, 2026.
Special thanks to Dr. Jacquelyn Prestegaard-Wilson, Assistant Professor and Extension #Livestock Sustainability Specialist with @txextension, for facilitating this visit.
The @AerodyneRes instrument, TILDAS Trace Gas Analyzer, was installed to measure N2O flux at a sampling rate of 10 Hz. Dr. Will Wheeler, Dr. Xiang Gao, and Lithma Kariyawasam coordinate site operations, oversee instrumentation performance, and manage data collection and analysis.
AgriFlux Site 3 & 4: College Station, TX
The AgriFlux sites at the @TAMU Agriculture Farm in College Station, TX, were established in 2025 in a 100-acre pivot-irrigated field. The field is managed under two sections:
@txresearch@tamusoilcrop
Both sections have eddy covariance instrumentation installed to measure #ecosystem exchanges of carbon, water, and energy. Soil greenhouse gas emissions are monitored through automated long-term chambers coupled with trace gas analyzers.
Meet our focus area lead: Dr. Uday Bhanu Prakash Vaddevolu, Irrigation
Dr. Vaddevolu is an Assistant Professor of Water Management & Hydrological Sciences in the Department of Biological & Agricultural Engineering at @TAMU.
@txresearch
By integrating IoT-enabled sensing, advanced soil moisture monitoring, and applied modeling approaches, his work improves water-use efficiency and supports greenhouse gas mitigation in agricultural production systems.
Dr. Liu also serves as the Conference Committee Chair for the Texas Animal Manure Management Issues (#TAMMI) Conference.

@txresearch@TexasManure
Meet our focus area lead: Dr. Zong Liu, Manure Management
Dr. Liu is an Associate Professor & Extension Specialist of Animal #Manure Management in the Department of Biological & Agricultural Engineering at @TAMU.
Through integrated research and extension activities, his work advances sustainable agricultural waste management practices to reduce environmental impacts and support greenhouse gas mitigation in agricultural production systems.
Through this work, Dr. Aburto is helping advance an emerging approach with important implications for both working lands and climate solutions. To learn more about his work, please visit: https://t.co/jnKYFrmCDa
Meet our focus area lead: Dr. Felipe Aburto Guerrero, Enhanced Weathering
Dr. Felipe Aburto Guerrero is an Associate Professor of Pedology and Soil Biogeochemistry in @tamusoilcrop.
@txresearch
Beyond its carbon sequestration potential, enhanced weathering may also provide added benefits for #soil function, #nutrient dynamics, and agricultural #sustainability.
