The Dangers Of A Western-Led AI Revolution For Africa

The so-called 'AI Revolution' being marketed by western tech interests is not an inevitable, neutral or benevolent phenomenon but a deliberate power grab that seeks to cement the world's less powerful populations into a new form of economic dependency.

US president Donald Trump's recent decision to halt advanced features of a new Anthropic AI model outside the US illustrates the inherent danger of surrendering technological sovereignty and becoming dependent on technology that comes inbuilt with a US government kill switch.

I hope you all can now see why many of us fought tooth and nail to stop Tinubu from becoming president; but many others (and sadly highly educated people) supported him and helped him rig his way to the presidency.

Now, he has become a poster boy; one that boldly passes the message that not only do you not need education to achieve the highest office in the land, but you also do not have to worry about leading a life free of crime.

The attack on the education nerve Centre in Nigeria was heralded and is sustained by the APC because an educated populace is one that asks questions and demands accountability. An educated populace is one with the potential to revolt.

Therefore, they do their best to make sure people like peller and his like get platforms to keep showing impressionable naija youth that not only do they not need education, but also that they can make money by putting their foolishness on display; and by so doing, reduce the possibility of the government being held accountable by them.

The steep decline, rot, and decay in our educational system started the moment APC got into power.

African Corrupt Leaders and The Hands Behind Them

Over the past couple of weeks, 2 former high level government officials from Nigeria and Ghana living in the UK and US respectively, who are both subjects of high profile corruption probes in their home countries, received legal guarantees of state protection against extradition to face trial at home. Once again, we are confronted with an issue that many in the Global North love to pretend does not exist.

Africa's "fantastically corrupt" governments are always cited as the reason behind the continent's state of underdevelopment. What is deliberately omitted by the Western loudmouths who recycle this talking point and infinitum is the foundational role that their own governments play in the acquisition, transfer and warehousing of stolen African state resources, as well as the shielding and protection offered to corrupt African government officials by the same Western governments that have a lot to say about "fighting corruption in Africa."

The boat cruise started out fine. Steve was doing the absolute most to make sure I was smiling. And I started thanking God that his wife divorced him.
