@kelly_mensahh So they never actually know your PIN it only know the mathematical fingerprint of your PIN. It's checking whether what you entered produces the same fingerprint, not comparing against the actual secret itself. Verification is still possible.
When you set up a PIN, the app doesn't store your actual PIN. Instead, it performs a one-way maths transformation on it (called "hashing") and stores only the result. Think of it like turning your PIN into scrambled eggs you can't unscramble eggs back into their original form.
