Sins are almost always associated with an accompanying sense of guilt. While we can always turn a blind eye to those guilty feelings, we know that such guilt will slowly chip away at our happiness. Repentance will remove that guilt and fill our hearts with calmness & tranquility!
And do not say of those who are killed in the way of Allah that they are dead; they are alive even though you have no knowledge of their life.
[Qur'an 2:154]
A heart does not turn cold unless it has been treated badly for a long while. Yet, some will still endure & not show it. So cherish all those with good hearts in your life. Don’t take them for granted. Be compassionate. Learn to show them the gratitude they deserve!
And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah . Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly.
[Qur'an 2:281]
Successful are the believers. Those who are humble in their prayers. Those who avoid nonsense. Those who work for charity. Those who safeguard their chastity.
[Qur'an 23:1-5]
Almighty. On this blessed day, we pray that you have Mercy on us & grant us ease. May You comfort all those who are suffering and bring on their recovery. We know there is no cure but Your cure. Heal our heart & purify our soul so we can feel a strong attachment to You. Aameen.
The sad reality is that we have been fooled to think death won’t reach us. None of us are guaranteed to reach Ramadan. May Allah allow us all to reach the blessed month
23 years ago, from a refugee camp in Kenya, my father and I arrived at an airport in Washington DC.
Today, we return to that same airport on the eve of my swearing in as the first Somali-American in Congress.

“And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide for him from sources he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him."
[Qur'an 65:2-3]
Embrace the pain in your life. It’s a necessary part of your growth. It strengthens you. It deepens your faith. It brings you closer to the Almighty. It builds character. It teaches you to worship instead of worry. It’s never easy but the rewards are great. Bear patience!
