So I applied but the posting got deleted and was replaced by one with much more stringent requirements it was genuinely perfect for me earlier and emphasized gaining experience in museums through it whyyy
found a job posting that is unironically perfect for me but idk how to convince the employer of that through a measly 1-page resume and 3-4 paragraph cover letter😭help
@51pomegranates yeahhh I've never been religious at all but when I was 18 I tried to read the bible for that very reason. I only got up to chronicles but even so the amount of references I'm now able to understand is incredible

@fortfroIic Idk how you imagine Victor so I just drew my design for him but. here they are
(I miss them so bad too 😭 I have GOT to reread Frankenstein)
@mrcartneys sadly my hearing aid that I stream music through makes it so that anything panned solely to the left side will be inaudible. I can only listen to the newer remasters of the Beatles' stuff 😭
Disagree with this. Instead you should read dense and difficult tomes with no notes or annotations. If at any point you forget what’s in the book, freak out. Freak the hell out that you’re declining, you’re stupid, then read it again while crying.
there's a bookstore job I wanna apply to but one of the requirements is that you read a wide, diverse variety of books. You have to list the 3 most recent books you've read. I solely read 19th c. "classics" (I hate that term but w/e)😭I am NOT getting this job (I'll apply anyway)
@fortfroIic it's so incredibly hard to do this but also it's literally the only thing that has worked! like I still struggle with this often but it's genuinely surprising how effective it is for lessening the time spend on compulsions etc. I wish you success in joining the idgaf war 🫡
@fortfroIic Oh nice!! I used to work in the mailroom of my college's library, & I was always curious about the rest of the ILL process, or how books for acquisitions were added to the library's collection. I'd love to be able to help patrons more directly but library jobs seem hard to get 🥲
@fortfroIic aghh I hope your workload decreases soon!! that sounds stressful.
You work in a library, right(?? not sure if I'm remembering correctly). What specifically do you do there? I hope to work in libraries someday, so I'm a bit curious
@nightlemonn@dykensteinery my knowledge on all of this is very vague but i'm pretty sure that all of these people distorted Percy Shelley's image after his death in some way! like timothy (his dad) iirc forbade Mary Shelley to publish much writing about him, jane put forth an idealized image of him, etc
