I was travelling on the Delhi Metro today on my way to the office.

Since I was on my period and suffering from cramps, I sat on this reserved seat.

A 60+ uncle started yelling at me, saying it is “their seat.” I stood my ground and told him that I had paid for my journey too, but he continued shouting that youngsters shouldn’t sit there.

I was already in pain, yet he made me feel guilty for simply sitting down.

Where is the basic humanity and empathy? Every man should offer his seat to a woman if she's standing. You never know what a woman might be going through. It reflects your upbringing and values.
