@GoldTeamBad Sara has had comments turned off on all of her posts for like 3 months, this is not a “I’m gonna tweet about Hart and turn the comments off” situation.
@DillonMitchel18 I can absolutely understand not wanting his name on the cup. I’m not thrilled about it either despite being a VGK fan.
But it feels more to me like the situation is a fire and people are more concerned with saving the nice houses and not the rest of the city.
@DillonMitchel18@AikmanCMU Genuine question, but why does the level of outrage for the same infraction change so drastically bc of how good someone is at their job/what level their job is at.
I genuinely dont understand why the Hurricanes are any less bad for employing Foote simply because it’s not the NHL
@CanesIncognito “Good news is they scored 4 playing the way Vegas wants to”
Im not sure that the way Vegas wants to play is Theo bobbling a puck leading to a breakaway, Eichel throwing a cross ice pass leading to a breakaway, and Hanifin failing a clearing attempt leading to a horrible giveaway
@HockeyGuy33MN@theblockspot Vegas swept the best team in the league, the same one that dumpstered your favorite team. Avs didn’t have to lift a finger all season until the WCF and got shoved in a locker lmao.
@CyclonePilot06@Capacitatedflux@reporterchris Yeah, the same call that 1) earned VGK’s owner a personal phone call from Gary Bettman saying it was the wrong call and 2) forced the league to make a rule change allowing officials to review 5 minute penalties to correct egregiously bad calls such as that one.
@jimmyroymusik@theblockspot This is such a hard metric to really judge a team/a city by.
There are so many teams who most would consider great hockey cities whose attendance suffers when the team isn’t good.
@alexbrasky This might be a crazy idea here, but have the “traditional franchises” in the league tried to simply be better ran organizations? They’re not owed shit simply for being “traditional franchises”. Stop complaining and do a better job.
@JustaNCfan@TheodoreTooth@JesseGranger_ Okay so you’re perfectly fine with organizations supporting someone accused of rape as long as it’s in the AHL and not the NHL?
That’s extremely performative, but at least you own it.
@JustaNCfan@TheodoreTooth@JesseGranger_ Darren Yorke is the Associate General Manager for the Hurricanes, whose job it is to run the Chicago Wolves.
Sure Foote might not see the NHL, but thats not the crux of the issue. Foote was signed by the Hurricanes, but on an AHL deal. It should carry the same weight regardless.
The Carolina Hurricanes' AHL affiliate has quietly signed Cal Foote, one of the five players acquitted in a high-profile sexual assault case this summer.
The Chicago Wolves tell FOS it was Carolina's decision:
"One-hundred percent not a Chicago Wolves signing."
@JustaNCfan@TheodoreTooth@JesseGranger_ Except for the fact that Wolves management came out and explicitly stated the signing was 100% not in their control and was made solely by the Hurricanes.
