I never liked those "this is how you color dark skin" tutorials where they just put 2 drawings as do and don't with no consideration for lighting, palette or theme. I honestly think dark skin coloring depends on the art and you can get it right if you learn a little color theory.

these are all still very real skintones though. skintones have a lot of variety and i don't think it's very useful to state that some of these don't work. i'd go as far as to say that the "correct" ones seem a little oversaturated but i'm assuming that's just OP's art style
