I learnt of one lady who travelled abroad and basically lost her life because of her family.

She was the first of five children from a very poor home. So, despite barely surviving on the stipend from her scholarship, she had to keep sending money home for her siblings' studies and her parents' upkeep.

Soon, she started struggling seriously.
She even had to stop answering calls because she already knew most of them would be about money.

Sometimes, she would sit alone in her room for hours, unable to get herself to do anything.

Yet the requests kept coming.
Any time she complained about not having money, they'd simply tell her: "You can still manage somehow since you're abroad naw."

Then she started missing calls consistently for several days. Her family became worried, but they still kept sending messages asking about the money they needed.

Eventually, her siblings started calling her friends. But nobody had heard from her.

After some weeks, her father received a message from her landlord.

He had entered the apartment after receiving an urgent call.

What they found in her room was her body.
