#WATCH | The Petroleum Dealers Association has urged the Centre to reconsider the rollout of E20 (20% ethanol-blended petrol), claiming the fuel is causing operational and customer-related challenges at fuel stations.
Association President Sasanka Sekhar Sahu said many vehicles on Indian roads, including several BS6 models, were not originally designed for a 20% ethanol blend. He alleged that the fuel has led to complaints of clogged carburettors and other mechanical issues, with frustrated customers often confronting petrol pump owners despite dealers having no role in fuel policy.
The Centre has been pushing the adoption of E20 fuel as part of its strategy to reduce crude oil imports, lower emissions and boost ethanol production. However, dealers have now called for a review of the policy, arguing that vehicle compatibility concerns need to be addressed.

#WATCH | Bhubaneswar, Odisha | Petroleum Dealers Association President Sasanka Sekhar Sahu says, "We are urging the government to reconsider the introduction of E20 fuel... Dealers are facing significant difficulties with the current E20 rollout. While the blend is capped at 10% in most countries worldwide, India has implemented a 20% blend. Consequently, the vehicles currently available in India are not fully compatible with this fuel. BS6 vehicles in India were not originally designed to handle this specific blend. This leads to issues like clogged carburettors and other mechanical failures. Customers then come to the petrol pumps and create a ruckus, even though the pump owners have no control over the situation. The government introduced the fuel, and we simply sell it. These problems, which were non-existent before, have only surfaced since the introduction of E20..."

✅ Drive your existing petrol Car as much as possible and squeeze it to the pulp
✅ If your existing car with airbags not showing any issues, don’t upgrade to a new car
✅ Avoid deserted petrol pumps on highways and village pumps. Prefer Jio, Shell & Nayara for better pump level infrastructure.
✅ Forget about resale value in this use-and-throw era of cars
✅ Get an extended warranty on a new car and totally avoid any modifications, upgrade of tyres and alloys not to risk the warranty.
✅ Avoid using any fuel additives when car is in warranty.
✅ Keep your tank minimum 20% filled if you drive frequently.
✅ Prefer Naturally Aspirated Petrol from MS / Honda / Toyota/ Koreans as a beater in AT/AMT car and avoid spending big out of emotions.
