Just had to delete over 600 images off my IG after this post was removed, reviewed and removed again for “sexual solicitation”. I hate it there. So.. hello darkness(twitter) my old friend…
@benjhaisch I too was burned out. I paid for verified and committed to post every day for a month and I’m happy to report my engagement fell and I lost 2K followers. Maybe give that a try!
@vertigocave My favorite song of all time is Blue and Yellow but Noise and Kisses is the song that made me want to be an artist. I was lucky to get it dedicated to me the first time I ever heard it live. I mean I asked Bert to, but still. Haha.
@VirtualJepha I think it changes based on how many times people have seen you. I thought the anniversary shows were so special because I heard several songs for the first time ever. I know there are songs off artwork I’m dying to hear and would gladly trade some staples. 🫀💀
I didn’t directly plans to use these as influence. I just love looking at this type of art and I think my brain subconsciously went there when deciding how to take the portrait.
I’m not a fan of being inspired by photography. When I try, I end up copying work and feeling awful about myself as an artist. I much prefer consuming other art forms and letting their style subtly show up. For instance I love Watchmen & Byzantine icons.
The Pentax 67 75mm 2.8AL is my #1 favorite lens I’ve ever used. My desert island lens. Here’s a wet plate of it, and 3 portraits I’ve made using it. Getting a 35mm field of view mixed with an almost LF look handheld makes it perfect in my eyes.
The light in Portland is so crazy beautiful right now from all the smoke. It’s amazing that something so pretty is coming out of something so awful. Maybe there is a life lesson in there… but I doubt it. View from my back porch. It looks like 🍄 light.
I’ve been editing digital photos and making AI generated art tonight. What have I become? Don’t tell the other film photographers. It’s an easy club to be banished from.
I got the 40mm f2 asph by Voigtlander for my Nikon fm3a to try out. This is from my first roll back. It never ceases to amaze me how timeless black and white film looks. @IndieFilmLab1 with the develop and scan. 🫀💀
