ghoulcy nation please welcome a brand spanking new member (this is a lie this ship has been tormenting me for so long i have founding father status) i'll be following every person in sight
that being said, she got stuck with writers that made her involvement in the finale laughably insignificant and with a good deal of fans that watch the show through a lens of such strong character bias that it circles all the way back to a disservice to said character.
i don't go here but i don't get how anyone would expect/want marie to ultimately be the one that kills homelander. it's the "arya kills the night king instead of jon" scenario all over again. narratively, there's no payoff unless it's butcher. it was always gonna be him. #theboys
would a face-off have been interesting? absolutely! but the show as we knew it would not have existed without the underlying power imbalance that drove a lot of its conflict. marie being the "strongest" contender to face homelander does not make her the best choice, story-wise.
@FrankieTviz 😭😭 it's supposedly shutting down at the end of the month, like giving a character a fake death scare just to kill them off in the season finale
@rapunzelariels not gonna lie as soon as he turned around and started smirking and tilting his head at her pointing a gun at him it was game over for me
it's funny, i caught a glimpse of ghoulcy and started fallout thinking i was in for a "strangers who begrudgingly become allies to survive the wasteland" dynamic just to get hit with the most insane enemies to lovers ship in modern tv... like giving poppers to a glue sniffing kid
