5 more innocent lives were taken by 38-year-old Francisco Oropeza using an AR-15 last night in Texas. After his neighbors asked him to stop shooting guns in his yard, he went over to their house and killed 5 people, including an 8-year-old child. Two other children were saved by women who used their bodies as shields.
This won't end until our legislators say "enough is enough." No, common sense gun laws and an assault weapons ban won't prevent every killing, but if it saves one life, it's worth it. If you don't think banning some of these commonly used weapons will prevent death, you are misleading yourself.
I get the 2nd Amendment argument but that doesn't apply here.
The 2nd Amendment doesn't say certain guns can't be banned.
The 2nd Amendment doesn't mean that all gun sales in America can't require background checks.
The 2nd Amendment doesn't prevent mental health checks for owning a firearm.
It's time for action!
