We use genetics and genomics to understand neurodegenerative diseases. We also use modern approaches to develop more predictive models for Alzheimer's disease.
Phenomenal talk by @kateeeemily today at #AAIC23 exploring the glial influence on exacerbating ARIA in AD mouse models. Exciting findings and looking forward to seeing where this work goes!
Headed off for a long travel day to Amsterdam for #AAIC23! Excited to be presenting so very cool work (with new data 🥳) that I’ve been working on with @ErikBloss and @garethhowell10! Make sure to come by my poster on Tuesday P3-012 to learn more!
Biggest contingent of @GHowell_Lab@jacksonlab at #AAIC23 ever! See presentations from @cowabunga314, @Heuerwego, Alaina Reagan, Olivia Marola and I. APOE, microglia and synapses, vascular health, toxic metals, the eye as a biomarker, and genetic diversity - something for all!
Stop by Asli’s from @gwcarter lab and @cowabunga314 @GHowell_Lab poster at P2-043 showing how mouse genetic diversity differentially regulates brain aging and response to amyloid.
Introducing MODEL-EyeD at #AAIC2023 leveraging novel @Model_ad_alz and @GHowell_Lab mouse strains to evaluate the potential of the eye as and additional biomarker for AD. Poster P2-245.
Exciting to see the first fruit of a collaboration between the Howell lab and @ErikBloss! The interaction between microglia and synapses is thought to be important across the board, however, perhaps this is just the case for certain genetic contexts? Check it out!
🎉 Celebrating #NPAW2022! Dr. Alaina Reagan is a postdoc in the @GHowell_Lab at @jacksonlab, researching how age and genomic factors influence cerebrovascular function in Alzheimer's Disease and dementia: https://t.co/Ax0nYLHoHH #JAXTrainee
