Let me lay it on you.
Valko wasn't just another character sitting somewhere on a roadmap. He was supposed to have launched already. He was supposed to be here. If you’re going to launch him after so many voices asking for his return, don’t wait.
Based on how every previous love interest has been integrated into LADS, future multi-character banners, events, and interactions would naturally have been planned with him in mind. So if your solution is to quietly release those updates without him, only to eventually sell his cards separately months later, that's not acceptable.
Those cards won't exist in a vacuum. They'll be tied to themes, events, and moments that players will immediately recognize were meant to include him. Every missing interaction will be another reminder that your own creative team's vision was interrupted.
This wasn't unavoidable.
You chose to cancel him instead of postponing his launch while investigating the situation, reviewing the reports, and communicating transparently with your players. You had other options. You chose the worst one.
Instead, your community did what should never have been our responsibility. Players in China worked tirelessly to address misinformation, preserve evidence, and defend Valko against slander. Global players translated documents, archived materials, spread the word, kept a trend for weeks, donated to wolf conservation and charities, created fan works, and tried to show the world the positive impact your character had before he even entered the game.
Think about that.
A character who never even made it into the game inspired people across the world to create art, donate to good causes, and stand up for what they believed was right.
How many games can say that?
This controversy is no longer confined to the otome community. Players across the wider gaming space are watching how you respond because this is bigger than Valko now.
It's about trust.
It's about whether players can believe that a CN live-service game's creative direction will remain intact when enough pressure is applied.
Don't hide behind players' love for the existing cast. They deserve to be celebrated because of their own stories, not used as a shield while everyone pretends nothing changed.
Don't ask us to celebrate new content while leaving an empty space where a promised love interest was meant to stand.
Many of us have supported this game with genuine enthusiasm and generous wallets because we believed in the world your developers created. Don't make us regret believing in it even more than we already do.
Stand by your creators.
Stand by your story.
Stand by your players.
