@mdf200@ScotTories We’ll see if they’re so brave when they have more to lose and see the weak economic case laid bare in a referendum campaign.
Still I concede it could happen. I just hope it can wait for 30-40 years so I don’t have to live through the shit show transition that will follow.
@mdf200@ScotTories Scotland is going to be a huge part of the energy future of the UK, which will create skilled jobs and opportunities for many here.
Your demographic point about indy support is not as strong as you think it is. I’m 21 and have never supported it. Plenty young yoons lol.
@mdf200@ScotTories That same article that is always cast up in this debate. It was a poor piece of journalism based on a flawed interpretation of a report. No one in the No campaign or any major political party advocated its findings. Everyone knew our industry still had decades left.
@mdf200@ScotTories Independence won’t happen. The only claim made by unionists was that it was a mature basin and that revenues are volatile - something that has been proven since.
Otherwise, I agree. We should be using our own resources and supporting domestic jobs for as long as we can.
@mdf200@ScotTories Yes, all Labour’s fault.
I just thought it was worth pointing out that the current Labour policy is identical to the SNP’s until their recent U-turn.
The SNP were only interested in the industry for funding the indy fantasy which is why they turned their back on it post-2014
@HarrietCross_MP@ScotTories@DLumsden_MSP Hopefully Aberdeen will make the right decision this time. SNP is a wasted vote if you care about Oil and Gas. They only know how to oppose and be purposely vague by abstaining.
@Staples1955@ScotTories Plenty of benefits have been accrued in Scotland. It has supported thousands of jobs in the North East over the years and contributed revenues to the treasury which has consistently spent more in Scotland than it receives.
@mdf200@ScotTories Just as well they have no say. SNP have opposed oil and gas from the moment it became clear it wasn’t going to fund their independence fantasy.
@Christia_Allard@ScotTories@Miles4Lothian Your party abstained from voting on new drilling licenses which is costing jobs in Aberdeen and the North East right now. I would sit this one out.
@Colkitto The braveheart crowd vote SNP regardless so this comes as no surprise.
As for the union, it is as safe as ever. There is no prospect of another referendum happening at any time in the near future. The UK government will continue to protect the will of most Scots.
