In Grand Rapids, Michigan, a heartwarming scene unfolded at the courthouse during a boy's adoption hearing. Five-year-old Michael, accompanied by his foster parents, was surrounded by an unexpected group of supporters – his entire kindergarten class.

Each child held up large red hearts on sticks, symbolizing their love and solidarity for Michael. When the judge invited attendees to express their feelings about Michael, the kindergartners provided heartwarming responses. They stood up one by one, declaring their affection and stating that Michael was their best friend.

Michael's adoptive father shared that this event was particularly special, as the judge mentioned it was the first time she had ever seen an entire kindergarten class attend a hearing in her courtroom.

Jonas Salk creates the first polio vaccine, 1955.

Salk decided not to patent his polio vaccine so that it would be affordable for millions of people who couldn't afford it. In an interview, Edward R. Murrow asked Salk who owned the patent to the polio vaccine.

"Well, the people, I would say," Salk responded. "There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?"

As a result of his actions, he lost out on an estimated 7 billion dollars but helped save millions of lives.
