New rules allow digital proof of age for alcohol sales in England & Wales.

From today, licensed premises can accept a QR code or phone tap instead of a passport or driving licence.

The change updates the Licensing Act 2003 and introduces certified Digital Verification Services improving privacy and convenience without altering the legal drinking age.
