2/ It starts with a friendly DM.
You're invited to "join the team" and get paid $40/hour in crypto to help on a Discord server. They mention flexible hours and high weekly pay ($1100–$1200). It seems too good to be true—because it is.
3/ Next, they send you a Discord link.
Once you join, they ask you to open a support ticket and tag a user named JUM | SkyDream. They welcome you and ask a list of personal questions under the guise of onboarding.
4/ The red flags:
They ask for your Operating System (Windows/Mac)
They request your ETH/SOL wallet address
They schedule a meeting to “start training”
This mimics typical phishing setups.
5/ THEN comes the trap:
They’ll eventually send you a software to download (most likely disguised as a “training tool” or “dashboard app”). This is how they gain access to your system and steal your crypto wallets.
6/ Another victim spoke out in the Discord:
One user raised concern, saying they were previously hacked using the exact same method and questions. This isn’t new—it’s a repeating scam pattern.
7/ What you should do:
Do not download anything from unverified sources.
Don’t reveal your OS info—it helps attackers tailor malware.
Report & block @DefiEdwin and any associated accounts.
NEVER share your wallet address casually—especially not for “job payments.”
8/ Stay safe out there.
The web3 space is full of opportunities and traps. Always verify projects through official channels and NEVER trust high-paying “mod jobs” that require you to install software.
9/ Spread the word.
If you found this useful, retweet to protect others. Tag someone who needs to see this. Let’s make Web3 safer—together.
