I think this could work well as a compliment to color schemes, but deleting deleting schemes from horizon makes them de-facto abandonware. Any feature the online store team doesn't use internally will die on the vine. You don't notice and fix the paper cuts on features you don't use.

Feels like palette colors would equally benefit from optional names and deletion assignment.

Also weird that I can feed these new palette colors into a scheme from the JSON, but there's no way to assign them in the color_scheme_group version of the color picker. Also when I do it via JSON the preview gets a little confused.

Color schemes need a `name` field and a way to choose which scheme will replace the one you are deleting. I think a lot of the support would be reduced if you added those two features.

Without assignable names, you can't remember what each scheme is for or why it was created

Without a way to assign the replacement scheme on deletion, you can't maintain/reduce schemes once they get out of hand.

@steveruizok You were right. Errors are rarely disconnected from an interaction target. One good error toast is when the user returns to a stale tab without internet connection. That’s the only one I can think of, and honestly it’s better as a sticky banner.

@GoonHuckleberry @ShopifyDevs This has broken in the past. I don’t reccomend using it for anything critical. Not sure what causes the millisecond value collisions — if it’s parallel rendering or freezing the value of “now” before the render — but it happens.

We have nice guardrails set up, it's easy to learn, and you can build advanced stuff really fast, but the people who would benefit most from that onramp can't access it.

I have a build process that works great for me, and we ship enough class hooks for people to write basic css in the theme editor, but lots of our customers use the web editor. I don't love telling people they need to learn terminal commands to tweak their theme styles.
