Once again, it feels like repetitively targeting blame on women for men's horrific actions instead of cultivating empathetic & nuanced conversations about what horrifically severe abuse can DO to someone's mind & body, their sense of love & safety, & why it makes them feel stuck
Just occurred to me:
In critical analysis of Dark Rom/Erotic Horror stories, WHY is it "it's wrong to depict women falling in love or staying with rapist/abuser men" and NEVER "it's wrong to depict men severely manipulating women to have complex/skewed senses of love/safety"???
Like WHY is the shame directed toward the depiction of women's behaviors/emotions/thoughts and both their purposefully calculated & bodily-autopilot survival tactics UNDER DURESS, instead of idk, shaming the depictions of abusive men for abusing women SO HORRIFICALLY?
I hate the phrase "attention seeking."
Hell yeah I need attention, it's good for mental health. The fuck? Humans are social creatures, god forbid we seek out social situations.
Nothing is a slippery slope. Either you are or you aren't. By saying something is a slippery slope, you are erasing accountability and putting the blame onto an inanimate object or theoretical scenario.
