Who remembers those days when we were kids, how we’d all rush outside the moment those white birds flew past, singing “Leke leke ba mi leke, Eiye Adaba ba mi leke” at the top of our lungs? 😄
Somehow, we all believed we’d get that little white mark on our fingernails and honestly… it made us ridiculously happy. Having that mark after the birds disappeared made you feel special, like you’d won something among your friends. 😂
Till today, I still don’t know how or why it even worked, but one thing’s for sure, it was pure joy. Growing up in the Village was something else. 💪❤️
Earlier this year, a friend asked me for a loan. To protect our friendship from any potential strain, I told him I would ask another friend to lend him the money instead.
I transferred the funds to that friend, who then loaned the money to him.
Today, he repaid the loan—albeit grudgingly.
I’m convinced that if he had known the money actually came from me, he wouldn’t have paid it back. In that case, I could have lost both the money and the friendship.
This experience reinforces a valuable lesson: mixing friendship and loans is rarely a good idea.
