Brazil is going through a very difficult and important moment, especially with the second term of our election approaching. For us, this isn’t just about politics or political parties - it directly affects our daily lives, our rights and the public policies that millions of Brazilians depend on.

During the administration of the father of the candidate currently leading the race, Brazil experienced an extremely severe economic and humanitarian crisis, including reports of people waiting in lines to receive bones because they could no longer afford enough food.

The current candidate has also been calling for intervention from Donald Trump in Brazilian affairs, which has raised serious concerns here. Many of the rights and public policies we have today are at stake, including Brazil’s universal public healthcare system, which provides free healthcare to millions of people.

We know these issues may feel far away if you’re not from Brazil, but they are very real for us. So if you see us talking about Brazilian politics more than usual over the next few days, we hope this helps explain why. 💚
