Relay Protocol drama? Classic crypto story. Funds drained, users crying, “smart contract exploit, hackers, unfair!” But let’s be real: the only people to blame are the ones who blindly trusted code they didn’t understand.
I’ve been around since the days of IRC channels and GPU mining debates. And you know what hasn’t changed in over a decade? People still hit “Confirm” in Metamask without knowing what they’re signing. People still ape into protocols they discovered in a Telegram group 5 minutes before launch. People still trust slick websites, shiny logos, and the word “decentralized” like it’s magic.
Newsflash: nobody writes flawless code for YOUR profit. Smart contracts are just code — and code always has bugs. Every bug is money for someone smarter than you. In this game, you’re either predator or prey.
Relay Protocol is just the latest victim. Tomorrow, it’ll be another. And every time, the chorus is the same: “We got scammed!” No. You didn’t get scammed. You gave your funds away. You trusted strangers with your money because everyone else was doing it. You wanted easy profit, and the market punished you for it.
DYOR isn’t a meme. It’s survival. Read the code. Verify the addresses. Ask the hard questions. Trust nobody but yourself. If you don’t, you’re not earning in crypto — you’re feeding the ones who do.
I’ve seen Mt.Gox, Bitconnect, Terra/Luna, FTX, countless rug pulls — and now Relay. Different names, different chains, same outcome: those who don’t learn, lose again and again.
So stop crying. Your wallets weren’t “hacked.” You handed them over. And if you don’t change your mindset, you’ll hand them over again.
Crypto isn’t safe. DeFi isn’t safe. There are no guarantees, no safety nets, no refunds. That’s the whole point. Learn it, or leave.
Stay safe. Or at least, get smarter.
