@BenRothenberg It’s a real slap in the face for Queensland, a state that probably has the richest history of tennis in Australia with Laver, Emerson, Rafter, Stosur, Barty.
@Carambasson@BenRothenberg Problem isn’t the amount of teams. It’s the amount of players each country has that can headline a tennis schedule. Two of the teams who could fill a team (Canada and Russia) were not included for various reasons.
@adamliaw Naplan and ICAS are quite different. Naplan is against all of Australia so it is easier to do well in this test. Only students who pay enter ICAS (usually the top end students) so it is harder to get one of the top results as the average score is a lot higher.
@BenRothenberg Went to @BrisbaneTennis on Tuesday with a ground pass. Felt embarrassing that Osaka, Kvitova, Stephens and Sharapova were playing in front of a half empty outside court.
@CWhitakerSport turns out Nishikori has underarm served before and this shows why he’ll probably never attempt it again. (1:08) https://t.co/Jba68ChV1A
@BenRothenberg Glad to see that the organizers only consider northern USA as the whole world. Would love to see other tennis starved areas of the world have a chance at hosting it.
