@HMRCcustomers Unfortunately, the document you linked to (BM37900) says "food for sustenance" is not an allowable expense, but doesn't seem to give any exceptions.
There does seem to be a contradiction between those two sources, or perhaps I've missed something? 2/2

@HMRCcustomers trying to find out HMRC rules on meal expenses for self-employment (eg, while on business trip). There's lots of helpful stuff for employers, (eg, EIM30240 in the Employment Income Manual) - is there an equivalent document for self-employed people?
