@classic_film Garner was one of the few actors who could move from TV to Movies and back the whole way through his career. Tom Hanks is a fantastic actor but after Bosom Buddies he didn't do another tv series, also I've never seen Bosom Buddies it wasn't shown in Ireland or the UK

@classic_film McQueen walked off the filming of the Great Escape as he wasn't happy with his screen time. John Sturges was having none of it and arranged rewrites and gave James Garner a lot of McQueens dialogue. Once he heard this he came back to filming immediately.

@Gibboanxious I always considered it a very good film. Excellent direction from Richard Attenborough, Kevin Klein is good in the supporting role as Douglas Fairbanks and a top class score by John Barry. The scenes with Antony Hopkins as his biographer are the one downside.

@classic_film Lottie Lenya was Kurt Weill the composer of Mack the knife's widow her name wasn't included in the original composition but it was added later when Louis Armstrong and Bobby Darrin did their versions of the song.

@classic_film It was the same with the corkscrew jump in the Man with the Golden Gun. John Barry added the slide whistle sound during the jump as a joke thinking they would edit it out but they left it in . He said he regretted it later as it took from a great stunt. https://t.co/3SbNnU6zYu
