A founder who can raise money will get attention.
A founder who can make money will always have options.
I think startup culture spent a decade making those two skills feel more closely related than they really are.
The market is correcting that.
Hi, I'm new here. A quick intro:
I quit my comfy job at a comfy tech company.
Posted 670 videos on TikTok.
Got over 21 million views.
Got my nickname ... "gili from philly"
Built my own company at 25.
Just sold it to my co-founder.
Now exploring, thinking, building.
DM 1: โ Iโd love to pick your brain!
DM 2: โ As I build my _ career, Iโm particularly interested in _. I see you did _, Iโd love to ask you 2 specific questions when it comes to my own career journey! Let me know if a 15 min call is possible or if you rather I write them here?
my bullshit red-flags in tech:
- name dropping more than 2 famous ppl u know
-dropping how much money u made without anyone asking
- any of the following: woop as a perk, nicotine vending machine at the office, or 9-9-6
- saying "bullish" or "pilled" more than 1x on a call
9-9-6 is bullshit.
There I said it.
My best ideas have always come to me:
-on vacations
- during the 10 min silent meditation at the end of a yoga class
- over coffees dates/long walks with smart ppl
