When you raise essential wages then students will stop turning those down as better opportunities are slowly opening up. Free market.

There won't be enough time to make all $10k when it's finally safe to work. No data on longterm health effects even in young ppl.

That amount of money is a drop in the bucket for the returns it will give. the benefit is well below min wage, students will work if they absolutely need to. It is small investment in schools that we CAN afford and SHOULD give.

I studied history & economics. neglecting schools always makes us worse off in recovery. we have good debt/gdp ratio to invest in ed. Will help more if we have many high wage earners when paying off in future.

I wish there was a better way but there isn't. you shouldn't shame ppl for turning down work during a health crisis. everyone is scared. sorry to be rude, best of luck 2 u

Otherwise it will greatly reduce # of skilled employees in the future. schools will shut down without students. govt supports education because educated workforce is better for everyone. parents' wages also reduced. lots of reasons.

@AmyAnn64 @mynameisamile @scammccann I am 74. I need help with simple tasks around the house, not just groceries. Most seniors do, which is why they are in nursing homes. Lots can no longer afford this or now afraid of getting sick in one. We are being sent home and are relying on family. Shame on you, family first.

@AmyAnn64 @mynameisamile @scammccann She is refusing work because of unsafe conditions, as is her right. That doesn't make her entitled. Unsafe to her family is still unsafe. You are the one making excuses for why she should accept unsafe work. This is not North Korea.
