Raymond Buck-Lew '65 is Gilman's first Asian student. Raymond was a dedicated student and athlete, playing both varsity basketball and tennis. He served as captain of the 1965 varsity tennis team before becoming the 1965 MSA singles champion. #AAPIHeritageMonth

We hear there could be some turkeys tangoing soon @GilmanSchool! Mrs. McElroy first taught the Turkey Tango in 2001, and it’s been a highlight of the Thanksgiving Convocation since 2003. In 2016, the 13-year men even joined the prep-one students for an encore performance!
President of Gilman's Board from 1912-1942, John M. T. Finney earned the rank of Brigadier General in the Medical Corps of the United States Army during WWI. Finney became the American Expeditionary Forces' chief consultant in surgery. The 1918 Cynosure was dedicated in his honor

On 9-14-1918, future Gilman Headmaster Captain Wardlaw Miles led his company in a hazardous attack on a trench position near the Aisne Canal. Although badly injured by machine-gun, he continued to lead his troops. Miles survived and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
