Plainview, Texas in 1890. It's a rather amazing photo, isn't it? You can look at it and pretty much figure out why they called it Plainview. At this point the town was only three years old, having secured a post office on March 18, 1887. The names Runningwater and Hackberry Grove were rejected in favor of Plainview, since a vast treeless plain surrounded the post office.
From the great folks @TSLAC .
Cotton at a 3-month high. First time in a long-time that we've seen an upward breakout. Spec shorts feeling the heat. Attempts to fade the rally are getting punished. What's the opposite of "Never try to catch a falling knife" ?
@bskegolf@billcrowder13 Because of the relationship of natural(cotton) and synthetic(petroluem) fiber. Even though natural is better for you and the environment, if synthetic is cheaper, it is what will get spun.
Cotton edged higher as the U.S. dollar faded & China reported stronger-than-expected manufacturing activity.
At its fastest pace in over a decade, Chinaโs manufacturing PMI surged to 52.6 in Feb. up from 50.1 (Jan), marking the 2nd straight month of growth in the factory sector.
US #cotton farmers, from #grandma.
Do not sell one single bale of cotton.
Speculators sold what they did not have, and then some more.
So now, now we wait.

@billcrowder13 People will tell you that it is so low because West Texas hasn't got into full swing yet.
While that is true, our bales are way, way down.
