Imagine you want to send some crypto to a friend. You open your wallet, click “Send,” and… nothing happens. The app just freezes. No error message, no loading spinner; just silence. You try refreshing, restarting, even switching Wi-Fi networks. Still nothing.

Turns out, the app’s RPC (the backend that connects it to the blockchain) was down. No RPC, no transaction. Your money is stuck, and you have no way to fix it.

What if I told you there’s a solution? A decentralized protocol that ensures apps and AI agents can access any blockchain, 24/7, with no downtime. A network that’s always on, always fast, and always reliable.

Before we talk about Lava, wtf is an RPC?
RPC is short for Remote Procedure call. It is like a phone line for apps to talk to blockchains. When you use a crypto wallet or a dApp, it needs to fetch data (like your balance) or send transactions. RPC is the bridge that makes this happen.

Lava is like a GPS for blockchain data. It connects apps, wallets, and AI agents to the best RPC providers (the folks running nodes👀) in real-time. If one provider is slow or goes down, Lava automatically routes traffic to the next best option.

But it’s not just about redundancy. Lava is permissionless, meaning anyone can join the network as a provider or a consumer. It’s also incentivized: providers are rewarded for good service (low latency, high uptime) and penalized for poor performance.

Lava connects blockchain applications with reliable RPC providers through a decentralized network.

Providers stake $Lava to join the protocol, where they are registered and grouped into chain-specific endpoints. Apps send traffic to these endpoints, and Lava efficiently routes requests to the best-performing providers. A reputation system scores providers based on latency, uptime, and accuracy. These scores determine which providers get the most traffic and potential rewards.
