Niece: Mommy, can we listen to that silly song?
@gingercim: Sure!
*Turns on Veggietales thinking she means Silly Songs with Larry.*
N: No, the other one!
G: Which other one?
N: The one with Kristoff!
G: Ah.
*turns on “You’ll Be Back”*

every time i reply to an e-mail, i sound like a civil war widow:
"Apologies for the slow reply. 'Twas a long and trying winter and life has been naught but a constant chain of struggle and despair. Please excuse my idleness during these troubled times..."
In light of our conversation @dallasseminary this morning on social media and the upcoming Lenten season, these words on feasting and fasting are helpful:
Opportunity comes your way & you wonder: say yes for the experience or potential? And then you go back to @emilypfreeman talking about Choosing your Absence in Ep 19 of #TheNextRightThing Podcast and you hear, "Choose your absence so that your presence will have more impact." YES
"Sit in the season that you’re in with great expectation that God is with you and that He’s doing a mighty work as you sit in pain and darkness, know that there is light." @lzumbr2 https://t.co/xI0cVLx9Zt
My spiritual director gifted me a new definition for joy: "the settled confidence that God is present and active." - Carol Travilla / I keep coming back to it.
Happy Valentines week, single ladies! I had a chance to talk with @beccalarae about singleness on today's episode of the Journeywomen podcast! You can find it here: https://t.co/zzcgHCC4s7
Hear, O Israel:
The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your might.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5
Eve didnt think she was better than God. She didn't think she was more powerful than God..Eve just believed the lie that she needed more than God..she turned her head & heart to her own resources, ambitions, and abilities.~@WinsomeWoman from #animperfectwoman Don't I do the same?
That thing you can't stop worrying about?
Verbally give it over to the Lord. Say out loud, "God, this is hard for me. I feel like I have more control if I keep worrying about (insert worry.) But I fully give this to You. I trust You. You are good and You are good at being God."
@BethMooreLPM The Lord mightily used the Breaking Free Workbook in my life the summer of 2004, as a baby just out of college. I didn't even SEE the chains - but I felt them each and every day. My eyes were opened and my life has never been the same. 2 Cor. 10:4-5 is my sword for the fight.
There comes this turning point -this clarifying moment in time- when you realize wide-eyed & terrified - your bondage is going to destroy you & permanently scar people you love. Thank God for it. It's a gift. A plane flying thru your sky trailing this banner: TIME TO BREAK FREE.
