@juneshannon Sometimes I give them ‘the hard stare’ before moving off. They might think I’m weird but I couldn’t care less. I also utter a louder than necessary ‘Goodbye’ - that really unnerves them. 🤣 .
@NChildersMEP@BirdWatchIE I love feeding the wild birds too but have made the decision to give it a miss for the moment. H5N1 has crossed over to infect mammals and there is one alleged case of human infection in Texas. It’s just too unpredictable right now. I’ll certainly avoid bird tables/feeders etc.
The 7 year old girl who kept her hand on her little brother's head to protect him while they were under the rubble for 17 hours has made it safely. I see no one sharing. If she were dead, everyone would share! Share positivity...
@MaiaDunphy However, my husband tells me that in Egypt, where he’s from, women eat it if they want to get pregnant - I think it’s a source of iron. He said it’s because the internal look of the fruit is said to mimic the appearance of the foetus in the uterus. 😊
@pmaxdrum@1goodtern Florence Nightingale brought the death count down in the Crimea. She realised that soldiers were not dying from their injuries but from lack of hygiene. She cleaned everything, long wards with open windows each side for ventilation, good diet and fresh water. She is my heroine.
@MaiaDunphy@gardainfo Those same guards (Pearse St.) found my bag in the old public toilet in Trinity St. (long closed). That was in the 80’s - money gone £85 - no phone to lose in thise days☺️. So glad you got it back.
