1/ Hello #PresTC2020! My name is Virginia Dressler and I’m the Digital Projects Librarian @KentState_LIB I'm participating in the ALA Preservation Week Twitter Conference hosted by @SAApreservation on the topic of the Right to be Forgotten and digital archives
@MapesGeog So sorry to hear. These scenarios are impossible and it's truly sad how few resources are available. My uncle near the end of his life had inhome care in trade for free room and board. He was in Los Angeles and the cost of care was insane. Sending love
First time presenting at IAMAS, and loving these sessions . Michele Darchuck, “Mothering in Higher Education - Creating Inclusive Spaces for Mother-Scholar Faculty at Jesuit Universities”
Presented in 2019 at a digital archiving conference & noticed their conference site was down, as I was looking for a title of another presentation. Submit an inquiry to the hosting institution (also higher Ed) & was given a link to the way back machine on the Internet archive 🤦
@MichalK67562 I think it's addressing the construction of archives- by their selection and curation, and in other parts of the book the author questions authenticity of archives and to be wary of trusting them completely
Friday morning reads. "To draw on an old Mediterranean passion that captures nicely the elements of competition and strategy, document making was like chess: full of gambits, scripted moves, and countermoves. Archives are less like mirrors than like chessboards."
One more day to take our survey on academic library and museum collaboration. If you work in either of these areas, we'd love to hear from you! I'll draw for giftcards March 1st. https://t.co/dNT3aps6b3
