Honestly, I thought it was pretty cool to see the Lakers and Dodgers owned by Mark Walter, and to consider the possibilities for the future with a team owner who has experience running a very successful professional sports franchise down the road. Walter didn't waste any time making drastic changes, but now, who knows where this goes and what Iger/Kushner have planned for the 17-time NBA champions.
The Lakers went from stability with a promising future with a new superstar, Luka Doncic, leading the way, to uncertainty in a little over a year. Crazy business!
The Lakers and Dodgers have spent the past year aligning both franchises under one roof owned by Mark Walter. There were people working for both teams from sponsorships and partnerships to player analytics and scouting. It'll be interesting to see how that synergy is now undone.
I'm seeing tweets about Disney/ESPN owning the Lakers. That's not true.
Bob Iger stepped down as CEO of The Walt Disney Company on March 18, 2026.
He has been pursuing his next big move since then. It was owning an NBA expansion team in Las Vegas. It's now owning the Lakers.
Atty. Sheila Sison defended Atty. Kristine Ferrer by saying Ferrer did not say misleading questions are allowed.

Tempers flared during the Raiders’ training camp practice Friday.
When DE Maxx Crosby hit Kirk Cousins twice, the 15-year veteran had had enough. Cousins got into Crosby’s face, grabbing the All-Pro’s jersey, while both exchanged words before it was broken up. https://t.co/awwppFPPa3
