Darth Vader has so much aura he doesn't even need a lightsaber
In Obi-Wan Kenobi, Vader casually dismantles Reva's entire attack without even drawing his own weapon, then takes her lightsaber and beats her with it. One of the coldest displays of power we've ever seen from Vader.
Neo rescuing Trinity with the helicopter in THE MATRIX (1999). Just when the movie seems like it can’t top itself, the helicopter crashes into the side of the building and the entire skyscraper ripples like water. Pure holy shit cinema.
This scene is 10x sadder when you've watched the entire saga in chronological order.
Anakin Skywalker's tragic journey is still one of the greatest character arcs ever written.
# ✨ Mercury is not the hottest planet!
Many people think that the hottest planet in the Solar System is Mercury because it is the closest to the Sun. However, this is one of the most common space myths.
Mercury does receive more sunlight than any other planet. During the day, its surface temperature can rise up to about +430°C.
But Mercury has almost no atmosphere to retain heat. As a result, once the Sun sets, the temperature drops dramatically to around −180°C.
The true record holder is Venus.
Venus has a very thick atmosphere made mostly of carbon dioxide. This creates an extremely strong greenhouse effect.
Heat becomes trapped under this dense atmospheric “blanket” and cannot escape into space.
Because of this, the temperature on Venus stays around +465°C across its entire surface, both day and night.
So, distance from the Sun is not the only factor that determines a planet’s temperature.
The atmosphere plays a far more important role — and in this case, it makes Venus the hottest planet in the Solar System.
David Fincher regrets ALIEN 3 (1992).
“They didn’t take me seriously because of my young age. They didn’t want to take instructions from me.”
They wanted to cut this scene.
Fincher had enough of it and grabbed camera. Shot it himself.
It was used all over marketing campaign.
Incredible video of a supernova remnant in motion!
It took 25 years to create this animation, showing how Kepler's Supernova (SN 1604) changes and expands over time!
This data was collected by the Chandra X-ray telescope (blue tones). The X-ray data was superimposed on visible-light images obtained by the Pan-STARRS observatory.
