@xu_dong_sun@siebelschool@eceuoft Congratulations! Haven't got the chance to meet you this time. I'll see you somewhere down the road then (Yonge street probably).
Our paper "Scheduling Cloud Block Storage Proactively and Reactively with Omar" has been accepted to Eurosys'26. Congrats to Xinqi and the team. Omar is a referrence to Omar Little from "The Wire". See you guys in Edinburgh next year, I guess.
@novasarc01 Back when I was undergrad, I read DCTCP (sigcomm’09, I guess?!). I thought 30+ lines of code. Geez, this is easy. Nearly 15 years later, this turns out to be a hell lot different than I anticipated and still got no sigcomm papers published.
@muratdemirbas@tianyin_xu@1a1a11a@eatonphil Geeez. Sorry. I actually read this couple days ago and had to dig it out since I forgot to "like" it. How the hell you realize it was Phil Eaton I was mistaken of (and your guess is right btw). Again, MURAT has made some really great points. Everyboady should read this blog!!!!
@tianyin_xu@1a1a11a https://t.co/jl1mbMnagm Phil has made some excellent observations. Rotating the locations is a promising solution but not a panacea. The 6-month span between submission and presentation is certainly too much for some fields (e.g., LLMSys).
Excited to share that our paper "Sleeping with One Eye Open: Fast, Sustainable Storage with Sandman" has been accepted to SOSP'25. Congrats to the team.
Gripping your pillow tight! Let's enter Sandman! See you in Seoul.
Just joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a tenure-track associate professor. If you are interested doing research in Storage X Cloud X LLM. Multiple Ms/PhD/internship opportunities available. Just drop me a DM or email.
Juncheng (@1a1a11a) and I are organizing Artifact Evaluation for #FAST26 and we are seeking members to join the commitee fo Spring and Fall cycles.
Help promote reproducibility, and engage with cutting-edge storage research!
Please apply by June 2nd via https://t.co/d7l9IeekLU
GogetaFS just won Distinguished Artifacts at FAST’25! The talk is tomorrow. Also, the WiP session is gonna be fascinating with 9 reports tomorrow 4:30PM.
Our work on merging metadata management in DedupFS has been accepted by Usenix FAST’25.
The title “Don't Maintain Twice, It's Alright: Merged Metadata Management in Deduplication File System with GogetaFS” is a homage to both Bob Dylan and Akira Toriyama.
Our paper on analyzing cloud block store traffic has been accepted to Eurosys’25. As usual, the title “ Hey hey my my: skewness is here to stay” is a homage to the one and only Neil Young. See u in Rotterdam.
@PjdPeter@troutgirl The game has fundmentally changed with Leetcode. Basically, you need to crack ~500 these to get your head around the interviews. I've got no hard feelings on them as those are my pastimes anyways. But, there are interviewers who dont quite know what the questions are about.
