Newlands Arm and Progress Jetty for Flathead with prawn as best bait. Around Raymond Island ferry jetty for Bream taking prawn. At the back of Raymond Island for Whiting taking pipi, mussels and small pieces of squid.

Weekend Fishing: Plenty of whiting are about Paynesville on pipis and small pieces of squid. Flathead are at progress Jetty and at the back of Raymond Island taking prawn and soft plastics.

The back side of Raymond Island for whiting, with best bait being pips and mussels. Newlands Arm and the Strait have bream and flathead, best baits being prawn and soft plastics. There are also prawns cruising about.

Weekend Fishing: The canals and the strait within the town itself for #Trevally, #Bream, #Mullet and #Flathead. Best results on peeled prawn, shrimp and worm.

Try Carstairs Bank and Bunga Arm for #bream and #flathead on worm unweighted and crab. Try Banksia Peninsula, Newlands Arm, The Strait and town jetties for #mullet and the odd #bream.

Weekend Fishing: best to head up the rivers for some action. Bream to be found near the grassy banks on the Mitchell River, and Whiting in the channel heading towards Lakes Entrance.
