Brethren, the Bible you hold today and read to know God came to be reality of because of the efforts of these scholars above.
These men devoted their lives to studying the word of God and the many complexities it came through.
God's word came through the prophets, apostles and their companions. But that was roughly over 4,000 years, and in languages not spoken in Africa and places not in Africa.
These people made sure they used the most rigorous standards to make sure we have what God gave people as His word originally.
Theology is from Theos and logia- God and study. Theology is study about God. Theology is just a more organized teaching about the Bible.
What your pastor does on a Sunday is what theologians do on a more serious, systematic and academic level.
Yes, theologians let other ideas influence them over Scripture at times, but overall, theology is just studying what the Bible has said about God.
When you read Romans and conclude we were saved by grace through Jesus' atonement, you have done theology.
You have studied God.
Theology isn't just important. Theology is non-negotiable. Knowing God depends on scholarship and fellowship. We must study what God has revealed about Himself-
2 Tim. 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
To divide the truth, we must study. That's what theology is.
Your completeness is not from the family you come from, the titles you bear, the profession you practice, the clothes you wear, or the skills and talent you have. Your true completeness is in CHRIST JESUS.
Ask a lawyer how to fix Nigeria, he would say enforce rule of law.
Ask a soldier how to fix Nigeria, he would say enhance security.
Ask a doctor how to fix Nigeria, he would say increase well being.
Ask an entrepreneur how to fix Nigeria, he would say increase production.
Ask an economist how to fix Nigeria, he would say optimize GDP.
Ask a pastor how to fix Nigeria, he would say pray and get closer to God.
Now, these are probable first responses from these professionals because they would probably speak from the point of view of their expertise.
They are experts. They see how their fields can significantly improve the nation, even though it won’t be whole solution.
Therefore, if we pardon them for speaking from their professional viewpoints, why do we lash out against preachers when they say pray for Nigeria?
They know help is in God. That is their life. Allow it. They reserve the right to.
Christ is everything!
Don't leave Jesus out of anything you are doing.
Always invite him in, always commit it to him, and always acknowledge him in all your doings.

Holy Spirit spoke to me through a smoothie
Yesterday, we had a little celebration in the office but I wasn't present because I had something to do. By the time I was back at my desk, a colleague of mine had dropped food and a smoothie for me.
I saw the smoothie she dropped and I was like this looks new it may not be so sweet, I was probably thinking there was watermelon inside (not so much of a fan of watermelon)
I was in the office of a colleague and I saw another flavor of smoothie. I was already negotiating with him on exchanging the smoothie because it looked like an avocado-banana mix.
We had to put it in the fridge till closing hours to take it home. When we brought it out and he tasted it, he said mine was better and I just had to collect my smoothie back 🥱🥱
While praying later in the evening, I said to the Holy Spirit, “What's the word for today?, What did you speak to my heart that I missed?” Then he reminded me of the smoothie and he said:
- We know no man after the flesh.
- What I give you is the best, stop looking at what other people have and discredit what I have given you.
- Be grateful for what you have instead of wanting what another person's have (you haven't even checked what you have)
- He literally said to me, “Taste and see that the Lord is good and when I tasted the smoothie, it was really good 😁😁 (Psalm 34:8)
The Holy Spirit will use every opportunity to teach you.
Relying on the Holy Spirit is a great strength.
Take pleasure in the things of God!
Don't wait to be cajoled before you participate in kingdom activities or carry out the responsibilities given to you in church.
