u spend years and years trying to craft theory to explain how mestizaje is inextricably linked to antiblack racism just for some boomer latino to come out and say it directly >>>>
“Just bc somebody tweet horrible shit about people all the time, harass people, call people slurs and is generally hateful to people all the time don’t mean they deserve to die! It’s just words.”
Well it wasn’t just words to somebody, Charlie Kirk!
It’s extremely funny that if you let a liberal zionist speak for long enough uninterrupted they will eventually say that Jews are treated worse than Black people in the United States. It happens 100% of the time
I find the hatred of this bottom-tier racist, Senator Celeste Amarilla, towards Mbappé especially ironic because there is an asterisk over her own place in the racial hierarchy she appears to worship. As a Mestiza woman, she would not even be considered fully white by the white supremacist purists whose approval her racism seems so desperate to earn.
There is something profoundly pathetic about people who borrow a hierarchy that does not even place them at the top and then use it to sneer at a black man who has surpassed them in wealth, achievement, influence and global stature. That Mbappé’s skin colour can still be treated as a mark against him by people who rank far below him on almost every meaningful ladder of human accomplishment tells you all you need to know about the intellectual bankruptcy of racism.
Landon Donovan says America is missing soccer talent because kids can’t afford to play.
“Only 2% of kids playing organized soccer in America came from households that made less than $50,000.”
“If you don’t make $50,000, your kid cannot play organized soccer.”
“Think about how many kids you’re missing out on in this country because they can’t afford to play the game.”
“There is zero chance I could have played club soccer.”
“My mom made $34,000 a year, single mom raising three kids.”
“She couldn’t pay $4,000 for me to play club. Are you kidding? She couldn’t pay $400.”
“That’s not a good system to create good players.”
A sport that costs nothing in comparison to other sports, being priced out of reach for most families, is yet another great example of why capitalism has failed us as a society.
"competitive market"
"Businesses selling a product"
And this jackass doesn't see the problem.
"All this free soccer"
Football, first and foremost.
And it should be free. Or close to it. 5k a year for kids to play a sport is hilariously American.
USSF should be paying for it. Through all the sponsors they have. Through MLS profits. Through government subsidies.
Big issue plaguing this country now: everything needs a price tag so a few can get rich and stay rich. No morals, no Christian faith. ALL CAPITALISM. Their shouldn't be a price tag on such a powerful game like Soccer(Football). But of course, you only think about making $$$.
Youth soccer (youth sports) is a competitive market with businesses selling a product that obviously customers are willing to pay for. I’d love if soccer was free to all. But who is going to pay for all this free soccer?
"competitive market with businesses selling a product that obviously customers are willing to pay for"
Can you imagine using these words to describe children's football
