Restoring the dignity of those living in marginalized communities through development initiatives that support employment, education and violence prevention.
“We are children of La Carpio and we have dreams…
We want peace in the streets...”
These children dream about a chance to play & be a carefree kid. They sing that a life of fear & tragedy is not what it should be.
This is their dream. And we’re listening.

What does La Carpio dream about?
We could tell you. But this year, we’d rather let the kids from the community tell you.
Something beautiful is growing in La Carpio. And this fall, we want you to hear it. Stay tuned...

December is such a joyful month! One highlight this season has been Marielos graduating. A mom of a sponsored student, she became a student herself in our adult literacy class. Now, after years more of study, she's attained her dream of getting her 6th grade diploma!
What does your year-end gift accomplish? $50 is snacks for hungry ESL students for a month; $500 is a computer for teaching & studying; $5000 is a life-changing camp experience for our youth group. Every gift helps us spread defiant hope. Partner at https://t.co/AYw9odQJS4!
Last night, we celebrated with our 2025 graduating students and their families. Congratulations to Edwin, Erwin, Carlos, John, and Justin (and Sara, who couldn't come), for all their hard work. We've walked with some of them since 2nd grade, and all have plans to go to college!
Hope isn’t passive. In La Carpio, it pushes back against despair. It's not too late to join us this Giving Tuesday, in fueling that kind of hope. When the world says “stay in your place,” defiant hope says, “there is more.” https://t.co/AYw9odRhHC
It's Giving Tuesday!
Where obstacles feel immovable, hope becomes an act of defiance.
Defiant hope today looks like you— choosing to believe that light is invading the dark places, and standing in solidarity with those who need it.

This past weekend, we concluded a youth group study on being a citizen of the kingdom of heaven, and what that means for our identity, values, and lifestyle. Would you pray that each of these teens would continue to grow in their discipleship to Christ?
Happy Fall - it's 29 days to Giving Tuesday! 🎉
Would you spend some time in prayer about partnering with us this year? Our funding needs have grown, and we are trusting God to provide all we need for a second floor on our ministry center, so we can serve even more people!
Did you know that 44% of the global population lives on less than $6.85 per day? In La Carpio, economic stagnation since the pandemic generates desperation that produces violence - the most we have seen in a long time. And yet, we cling to a defiant hope that refuses to give up!
Throwback to October 2012: 13 years ago we were founding giveDIGNITY, just starting our child sponsorship, vocational, and violence prevention programs. We thank God for his guidance as we have evolved all these years, and for his provision to continue the work!🥰
