@tarkaniang @meta_enix @SaltyGoat17 not really; they aren't protecting shipping; can't get close to Iran because of drones and missiles; they can't remove mines; the aircraft they have can't dislodge the Iranians from caves on the coast of Hormuz.. most attacks are by ground based bombers. so, yeah.. useless.

@Designer_JDS @tarkaniang @meta_enix @SaltyGoat17 More carriers that have to stay outside missile range; which is also outside most of the aircrafts range also.. with the only way to hit the enemy is with ground based bombers and cruise missiles == as stated by the Pentagon.

I corrected you by pointing out that 10% is not 50%; and then highlighted that the USA spends more on welfare per GDP than the UK. We do agree that more needs to be spent on defence.

@TX_born_free @meta_enix @SaltyGoat17 Really? Europe would require 1 - 1.5% increase; 2/300 Billion a year across all nations if paying separate. If Europe spent collectively, that would drop to 100-150 Billion extra a year; this would mean tax increase or what the USA does - borrow the money. No cuts to health.

@TJW2024 @SaltyGoat17 you only built half the bases you use now; and you don't own the land so there is nothing to buy, unless you want to sell us the buildings themselves - but we'd be better off using the utilities built there to build houses.

@grant_huser @SaltyGoat17 @Ladude2014 UK spends 10% of GDP on welfare, most is pensions.. the US spends 2%, but does not include pensions in it's stats - when it does; the USA spends 12-14% on "Welfare". 95% of welfare goes to Brits; only 0.6% to illegals; the rest is to legals who paid into the system via tax.

@SaltyGoat17 yeah, I'm cool.. you'll have massively reduced means to start illegal or ill-advised wars; you'll have no where to deploy advanced missile warning systems; so if you're attacked, the debris from intercepted missiles falls on your cities and civilians and not ours.

The only sanctuary we seem to be giving, is to English people that hated Wales, then fled here when brown people started living near by.
