Today an interesting announcement was made by US treasury.

They will increase the buybacks of their own long term debt ( 10-30 years) by issuing short term debt .. upto 2 years… so to be clear no QE.

As @PauloMacro writes “US Treasury will rain Tbills to do more and more buybacks even as the issuance mix moves in that direction already…which is very Brazil 90s of us and highly inflationary over time (at one point Brazil was rolling 99% overnight… vibes). This is exactly what the metals are smelling.

Remember: Bessent can save the dollar or the bonds - he is choosing the bonds.

This in my view is Yield curve control ( lite) and will only increase inflation over time.

When was the last time you saw Gold up 135 dollars.
